Circadian Sky User Guide
Every screen in the Circadian Sky controller interface, documented with a screenshot and a description of each control. 55 screens in total.
Device Connection
- Device Connection The device scanning and connection screen shown when the app launches. Scans for nearby Innerscene fixtures via Bluetooth and displays them as a list with signal strength, status, and identify controls.
- Authentication Password prompt shown after selecting a device. The device requires authentication before you can control it. The default password is "innerscene".
- Legacy WiFi Upgrade WiFi-based firmware upgrade for older devices that do not support Bluetooth connections. The Innerscene Studio app joins the fixture's built-in Wi-Fi access point with one tap and then uploads firmware directly over HTTP.
Home Screen
- Home Screen Main control screen with CCT and brightness sliders, quick presets, and schedule preview.
- Multiple Windows Warning shown when the device interface is open in multiple browser windows on the same network. Polling is automatically paused in inactive windows to keep the device responsive — this page lets you override that pause for the current window.
- Secondary — No Group Shown on a secondary fixture that has not been assigned to a wireless group. Without a group the fixture operates independently and does not synchronise with anything. Offers a shortcut to assign it to a group and a link to learn what primary/secondary fixtures are.
- Secondary — No Primary Shown on a secondary fixture that is in a wireless group but cannot reach a primary fixture on this radio channel. The schedule and lighting state come from the primary, so without one the fixture is stuck. Offers a single recovery — change the wireless group — for cases where the secondary was provisioned to the wrong group.
- Secondary — Connected Healthy-state page on a secondary fixture: it is in a wireless group and has located the primary fixture for that group. Shows the primary's WiFi/BLE/MAC/IP for identification, optionally offers a one-tap switch to connect this browser session directly to the primary, and provides shortcuts to change group or learn about roles.
- Secondary — Settings Simplified Settings page shown on secondary fixtures. Secondaries do not have their own schedule, CCT, brightness, or daughter-board controls (those come from the primary), so the menu is reduced to just the wireless and system-level controls that still apply locally.
Settings
- Settings Configure device behavior including schedule, time settings, location, weather, and connected accessories.
- SkySync Monitor and manage the SkySync ambient light sensor. When paired, the fixture automatically tracks outdoor sky color and brightness to match indoor lighting to natural conditions.
- SkySync Detected (Home) Home screen showing the "SkySync Found" discovery banner. This appears when an unpaired SkySync sensor is detected nearby via Bluetooth — typically when a fixture is delivered with a SkySync that has not yet been paired.
- Pairing (Unpaired) The SkySync page when no sensor is paired but one or more sensors are detected nearby. Shows the "Available Sensors" list instead of live readings. This is the view customers see when they first navigate to SkySync to pair an included sensor.
- Sensor Status Lists active warnings and faults reported by the SkySync outdoor sensor. Reached from the [[skysync|SkySync]] page when the sensor reports issues that need attention (low battery, lost signal, obstructed view, etc.). When the sensor reports no issues, the page shows an "All OK" confirmation instead.
- SkySync Settings Configure how the SkySync sensor controls the fixture including control mode, sensor selection, brightness and CCT limits, and night mode behavior.
- Sensor Hardware Connect directly to the SkySync sensor for configuration, calibration, and aiming. Useful during installation and troubleshooting.
- Messages View system notifications and alerts from the device, such as firmware update availability, connection events, and error reports.
- Export Settings Save a named profile of this fixture's settings to a file so they can be copied to another fixture or kept as a backup. Choose exactly which settings to include before exporting.
- Import Settings Apply a settings profile that was previously exported, either from a saved profile or from a .json file on your device. Pick which of the saved settings to apply before importing.
External Inputs
- 0-10V Configure dual-channel 0-10V analog dimming input for primary fixtures with a 0-10V daughter board.
- DMX Configure DMX512 digital lighting control for primary fixtures with a DMX daughter board.
- DALI Status and configuration page for a fixture wired to a DALI control bus. Shows whether DALI commands are being received, the live brightness and color temperature being requested, the mapping between the DALI CCT range and the fixture's native range, and the fade speed.
- Casambi Status and configuration page for a fixture equipped with a Casambi daughterboard. Shows pairing status with the Casambi network, live brightness/CCT readings from the wireless mesh, the CCT mapping curve between Casambi values and the fixture's range, and module identification info.
Schedule
- Schedule Create and edit the daily lighting schedule. The interactive graph shows color temperature and brightness throughout the day with draggable control points.
- Edit Schedule Point Edit an individual schedule point's time, brightness, and color temperature. Changes can be previewed live on the fixture before saving.
- Schedule Days Select which days of the week the automated schedule is active. On inactive days, the fixture remains at its last known state.
Device Info
- Device Info Displays device identity, network addresses, system status, firmware version, mesh configuration (primary fixtures only), and provides quick access to device actions.
- Wireless Group Configure wireless synchronization between multiple Innerscene fixtures. Devices in the same group automatically sync their lighting state.
- Scan All Channels Scans every wireless group channel to discover all nearby Innerscene fixtures, regardless of which group they belong to. Useful during commissioning and for locating unknown fixtures on the network.
- Temperature Monitor Real-time temperature monitoring with a historical graph, statistical summary, unit toggle, and peer device temperature comparison.
Advanced
- Advanced Hub page for advanced device configuration including system settings, WiFi, diagnostics, hardware control, calibration, device values, and firmware management.
- System Configuration Configure system-level device settings including the fixture role, status LED brightness, network address, mesh rebroadcast range (primary fixtures only), and factory reset.
- Software Primary Info Information page shown when a fixture is acting as a "software primary" — i.e. running the schedule for its wireless group despite not having a 0-10V or DMX daughter board. Lists the four practical limitations of this mode so installers know what to expect: no dimmer input, no battery-backed clock, internet required for schedule, and a recommended power-control strategy. Reached from the [[system_config|System Configuration]] page when this fixture's role is "software primary".
- No Primary Found Troubleshooting screen shown when this fixture is a secondary but cannot find a primary on its wireless group. The status message at the top adapts to the actual condition — "no group assigned", "wireless sync inactive", or "no primary found" — and includes the current group number. The page offers two recovery paths: changing the wireless group, or learning more about fixture roles.
- Fixture Roles Educational page explaining the three fixture roles (primary, secondary, software primary) and how wireless groups tie them together. Reached from any page that offers "Learn About Fixture Roles" — typically on the [[no_primary_found]], [[secondary_no_group]], or [[secondary_primary_found]] pages.
- WiFi Manage the device's WiFi access point, connect to external networks, configure radio channel, SSID visibility, and security settings.
- WiFi Scan Scans for nearby WiFi networks and displays them sorted by signal strength. Tap a network to connect the device to it.
- Connect Enter the password and join a selected WiFi network. Shows connection progress and status.
- Network Details View detailed information about a WiFi network including signal strength, channel, security, and connection status with IP addressing.
- SSID Editor Change the name (SSID) of the device's WiFi access point. This is the network name visible when scanning for WiFi.
- Device Password Change the device password used to access the web interface and protect the device from unauthorized control.
- Disable Wireless Permanently disables one or more wireless interfaces on the device. This is a one-way operation — once disabled, the interface cannot be re-enabled from the device itself.
- Diagnostics System diagnostics tools including connection monitoring, log level configuration, console output, API testing, and network diagnostics.
- Hardware Control Low-level hardware controls for directly setting individual LED channel values, changing the radio channel, and running hardware test functions. Intended for installers and advanced troubleshooting.
- Data Management Hub page for the fixture's low-level data tools. Splits into two sub-pages: [[bake_group|Bake Group]] for preparing every fixture in the current wireless group for shipping, and [[edit_values|Show / Edit Values]] for browsing and modifying the raw NVS key-value store.
- Bake Group Prepares every fixture in the current wireless group for shipping by writing critical runtime settings (radio channel, group number, schedule, etc.) to persistent storage and removing debug/test keys. Run this before sending a calibrated, configured group of fixtures to a customer so the configuration survives a factory reset on the installation site.
- Device Values Browse, edit, and manage all key-value configuration data stored on the device. Shows persistent and resettable storage locations with tools to bake, add, edit, delete individual or bulk-selected values. Reached from the [[load_values|Data Management]] hub.
- Edit Value Edit an individual device configuration value. Modify the raw value, change its data type, or move it between storage locations.
- Add New Key Create a new key-value pair in the device's configuration store. Specify the key name, value, data type, and whether it should be stored in resettable or persistent storage.
- Confirm Calibration Delete Safety prompt shown when you attempt to delete one or more keys that contain calibration data. Calibration is not user-recoverable without rerunning the full calibration procedure, so this dialog asks you to confirm before destroying it. Reached from the [[edit_values|Device Values]] page when the selected rows include calibration keys.
- Calibration Results Shows the calibration results stored on the fixture: the individual calibration points plotted on a CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram, and the underlying point-by-point table including CCT, lux, color-MacAdam-step (SDCM), CIE xy coordinates, and raw LED channel values. Used to verify a fixture's calibration is healthy or to export the data for analysis.
- Firmware Updates View the installed firmware version, install verified updates from the server, provision new fixtures, or upload a firmware package manually.
- Provision New Fixtures Step 1 of the batch provisioning wizard. Scans nearby WiFi for fixtures broadcasting their factory Innerscene-* access points. Pick the targets, then continue to choose which actions to apply.
- Configure Actions Step 2 of the batch provisioning wizard. Pick which actions to apply to each selected fixture (install firmware from this controller, set the wireless group, bake the settings), then start the batch. The orchestrator processes targets one at a time over WiFi.
- Progress Step 3 of the batch provisioning wizard. Live status as the controller works through each target fixture in turn. Shows an overall progress bar plus a per-device row with the current action and outcome.
