File converters
380 conversions across 39 source formats and 16 targets, all running in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is nothing to install. Pick a pair below, or open any file in the universal 3D viewer and use its Export menu directly.
3D models and CAD
Solids, meshes and assemblies. These convert to any of the mesh, CAD, AR and document targets.
3DM
Rhino 3D Model (.3dm)Rhino meshes, NURBS surfaces and polysurfaces, SubD, curves, point clouds, layers with their colors, and the file unit system.
3DS
3D Studio (.3ds)Meshes, the object hierarchy and material colors from the legacy 3D Studio container.
3MF
3D Manufacturing Format (.3mf)Named manifold objects with their per-object colors and explicit millimeter units.
BLEND
Blender (.blend, .blend1, .blend2)The mesh geometry the file stores, placed by each object transform, with Principled BSDF materials and packed textures. Collections become layers.
DAE
COLLADA (.dae)The COLLADA scene graph: geometry, instanced nodes, material colors and the unit scale declared in the asset block.
FBX
Autodesk FBX (.fbx)Meshes, the node hierarchy and material colors from binary and text FBX.
GLB
glTF Binary (.glb)Triangle geometry with PBR materials, textures and the full node hierarchy.
glTF
glTF JSON (.gltf)The glTF scene graph with PBR materials, plus its .bin and image siblings when they travel with it.
IFC
IFC Building Model (.ifc)Walls, slabs, windows, doors and MEP as tessellated solids, grouped into per-type layers.
IGES
IGES (.iges, .igs)NURBS surfaces and trimmed B-rep solids, tessellated through OpenCASCADE.
MAX
Autodesk 3ds Max (.max)Collapsed Editable Poly and Editable Mesh geometry, parametric primitives, the object hierarchy with instancing, layers, and material colors.
OBJ
Wavefront OBJ (.obj)Triangle and quad geometry, UVs and normals, with material colors from the companion .mtl file.
PLY
Polygon File Format (.ply)Vertices and faces with per-vertex color, the usual output of a 3-D scanner or photogrammetry run.
RVT
Autodesk Revit (.rvt)Revit 2020 and later, rebuilt from the element database: walls with their joins and openings cut, floors, roofs, ceilings, stairs, railings, columns, framing and placed families, in per-category layers.
SKP
SketchUp (.skp)Faces, groups and components, layers (tags), and material colors, from every SketchUp version.
SLDASM
SolidWorks Assembly (.sldasm)The assembly as SolidWorks saved it, already assembled, with each component in place. Assemblies that reference external part files carry no geometry and need a STEP export instead.
SLDPRT
SolidWorks Part (.sldprt)The display mesh SolidWorks itself draws, saved in the file as triangle strips per face and decoded here in meters with smooth normals.
STEP
STEP (ISO 10303) (.step, .stp)The B-rep solids and surfaces of the assembly, tessellated to display meshes, with the product tree and real units.
STL
Stereolithography (.stl)A single triangle soup. STL stores no color, no units, no parts and no layers, only the surface.
WRL
VRML (.wrl, .vrml, .wrz)IndexedFaceSet, IndexedLineSet and PointSet shapes with their materials, including PROTO definitions, Switch and LOD nodes, and gzipped .wrz files.
X3D
X3D (.x3d, .x3dv)X3D written in the classic-VRML syntax, whether the file is named .x3dv or .x3d. The XML profile is a different grammar and is not read; save it as X3D Classic VRML or VRML 2.0 first.
2D drawings
Plans, sheets, maps and board artwork. These convert to CAD line work, vector art and documents.
AI
Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .ait)Artwork from both eras: Illustrator 9 and later through the PDF pipeline, Illustrator 8 and earlier as PostScript paths, layers and text.
DWF
Autodesk DWF / DWFx (.dwf, .dwfx)Published 2-D vector sheets and 3-D HOOPS models, with a picker for multi-sheet sets.
DWG
AutoCAD Drawing (.dwg)Model and paper space linework, blocks, hatches, dimensions, text and layers, plus 3-D solids where the drawing has them.
DXF
AutoCAD DXF (.dxf)Entities, blocks and layers from ASCII and binary DXF, including 3-D faces and meshes when the file carries them.
Gerber
Gerber / Excellon (.gbr, .ger, .gtl, .gbl, .gts, .gbs, .gto, .gbo, .gtp, .gbp, .gko, .gm1, .drl, .xln, .exc, .drd)RS-274X and X2 copper, mask, silkscreen, paste and outline layers plus Excellon drill data, stacked in fabrication order.
SHP
Esri Shapefile (.shp)Points, polylines and polygons as a real-world-scale map, and MultiPatch records as 3-D buildings, with units taken from the .prj.
Point clouds
Scans and LiDAR. These convert to the formats that treat points as first-class.
Images
Pictures re-saved into another image format, or captured into a PDF.
BMP
BMP Image (.bmp, .dib)An uncompressed Windows device-independent bitmap.
GIF
GIF Image (.gif)An indexed-color bitmap. Animations show their first frame.
SLDDRW
SolidWorks Drawing (.slddrw)The full-resolution sheet image saved in the file: every view, dimension and title-block field, with a picker for each sheet.
TIFF
TIFF Image (.tif, .tiff)A scanner or archive TIFF, and a single-band GeoTIFF as a terrain mesh.
Documents
Paginated files. The page you are viewing is captured as an image.
DOCX
Word Document (.docx, .docm)The document paginated the way Word paginates it: style cascade, line breaking against real font metrics, tables, headers, footnotes and images.
