How to convert PLN to DWG

Open your .pln file
Drag it onto the viewer above, or click "Open a PLN File". Files up to 200 MB open directly; the parse runs in a worker so the page stays responsive.

Pick AutoCAD Drawing in the Export menu
Click Export in the toolbar, then DWG (.dwg).

What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from PLN into DWG, and what does not.

What the DWG writer emits: The same R12 geometry as the DXF export, converted to binary DWG by a native converter on our server. Layers, colors and units carry across. This one step is the only part of a conversion that leaves your machine, and it sends geometry only.

What happens to your file
Your PLN file is parsed in your own browser tab and never uploaded. Writing a binary DWG is the one step that cannot be done in a browser, so the geometry we generated locally is posted to our own converter as a DXF, turned into a DWG, and sent straight back.
What travels is the exported geometry, not your original file: no source document, no file name, no metadata. Nothing is retained after the response. PLN → DXF

Your PLN file is not. It is read and converted in your own browser tab. Writing a binary DWG is the one step no browser can do, so the geometry produced locally is posted to our converter as a DXF and comes back as a DWG. Your original file, its name and its metadata never leave your machine.
▶Will my colors and materials survive the DWG export?
