Click Export in the toolbar, then XYZ (.xyz).
- 3
Download
The .xyz is written in the browser and saved straight to your downloads folder. No queue, no email, no watermark.
What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from KSPLAT into XYZ, and what does not.
| Geometry | Kept | Both formats store points, so the shape transfers directly. |
|---|---|---|
| Colors and materials | Kept | XYZ carries per-vertex color, which is at least what KSPLAT stores, so the colors come across. |
| Units and scale | Dropped | XYZ stores no unit. Coordinates are written in meters, so set the import unit to meters if the destination asks. |
What the XYZ writer emits: ASCII `X Y Z R G B` with 0-255 colors, in meters, the CloudCompare and survey-tool convention. A georeferenced cloud is written on its own map grid, in the grid’s unit.
The source: GaussianSplats3D splat (.ksplat) (.ksplat)
The splats of a GaussianSplats3D .ksplat file, at any compression level: each one’s centre in its colour, as a point cloud of the splat centres. Splats are not surfaces, so the conversions are point clouds and pictures.
The target: XYZ Point List (.xyz)
The plainest possible scan interchange: one point per line, readable by anything.
Opens in: CloudCompare, Civil 3D, survey and GIS tools, spreadsheets, scripts.
Your file never leaves your computer
Both the KSPLAT parser and the XYZ writer are JavaScript and WebAssembly running in your own browser tab. There is no upload step, no server-side conversion queue, and no copy of your file anywhere but your machine. That matters for drawings under NDA, for client work, and for anything you would not email to a stranger.
