What survives the conversion

A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from TIFF into PDF, and what does not.

Geometry	Reduced	The vector PDF keeps the line work as editable paths with hidden lines removed. The snapshot PDF is a picture of the view. Neither is 3-D geometry once exported.
Colors and materials	Kept	PDF carries full color, which is at least what TIFF stores, so the colors come across.
Resolution	Kept	The export dialog opens at the picture’s own pixel size, so a 1x export is the same resolution as the original. You can go higher or lower before saving.
Camera metadata	Dropped	EXIF is not carried across: no camera model, no exposure settings, no GPS coordinates, no capture date. Only the pixels are written. That is a privacy win if you are publishing the photo and a loss if you were relying on the metadata.

What the PDF writer emits: Two buttons: a snapshot PDF of the current view with caption headers, and a true vector PDF. The vector one re-projects a 3-D model as editable line work with hidden lines removed, and writes a 2-D drawing straight through as native PDF vector objects with its text still selectable.
