How to convert IES to PNG

What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from IES into PNG, and what does not.

What the PNG writer emits: The current view, captured at whatever resolution you set in the export dialog. For a picture the dialog opens at the source image’s own pixel size, so a 1x export is a faithful re-save; for a model or a drawing it opens at twice the on-screen size, up to 8192 pixels wide.

The luminaire’s candela distribution, drawn as a 3D photometric web coloured by intensity, with the C0-C180 and C90-C270 polar curves and the luminaire outline from the dimensions the file states. Every LM-63 revision and symmetry type.

No. The file is read with the browser file API and converted in the same tab. Nothing is sent to a server unless you explicitly click Share, which is a separate, opt-in feature.
