How to convert CSV to HTML
- 1
Open your .csv file
Drag it onto the viewer above, or click "Open a CSV File". Files up to 200 MB open directly; the parse runs in a worker so the page stays responsive.
- 2
Pick Self-contained HTML in the Export menu
Click Export in the toolbar, then HTML (.html).
- 3
Download
The .html is written in the browser and saved straight to your downloads folder. No queue, no email, no watermark.
What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from CSV into HTML, and what does not.
| Cells and values | Kept | The table becomes one HTML table, with the delimiter and the text encoding detected and the numbers right-aligned. |
|---|---|---|
| Formatting | N/A | CSV stores no formatting, so the table is plain text, with numbers right-aligned and a header row in bold. |
| Viewing | Kept | The column letters, the row numbers and any frozen rows and columns stay pinned while the sheet scrolls. The page opens offline in any modern browser and holds no script. |
| Sheet size | Reduced | A sheet longer than 10,000 rows or wider than 256 columns stops there, with a note giving its full size. |
What the HTML writer emits: A single .html file holding the data and everything needed to show it. A model or point cloud is embedded as a base64 GLB with a small three.js viewer: orbit, pan, zoom, fit to view and a ground grid. A drawing is embedded as SVG with pan, zoom and a layer list. A workbook becomes HTML tables, one tab per sheet, and a Word document becomes HTML text with its headings, lists, tables and pictures, with no script in the page at all. The page loads nothing from the network and runs no code from the source file.
The source: CSV / TSV Table (.csv, .tsv)
Comma-, semicolon-, tab- and pipe-separated text, with the delimiter, the encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16 or Windows-1252) and decimal commas detected, shown as a sheet with numbers right-aligned and the header row frozen.
The target: Self-contained HTML (.html)
One web page that opens offline in any browser. Send it to anyone: there is no app to install and no account to create.
Opens in: Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, on desktop, tablet and phone.
Your file never leaves your computer
Both the CSV parser and the HTML writer are JavaScript and WebAssembly running in your own browser tab. There is no upload step, no server-side conversion queue, and no copy of your file anywhere but your machine. That matters for drawings under NDA, for client work, and for anything you would not email to a stranger.
