How to convert FBX to SVG
- 1
Open your .fbx file
Drag it onto the viewer above, or click "Open an FBX File". Files up to 200 MB open directly; the parse runs in a worker so the page stays responsive.
- 2
Pick Scalable Vector Graphics in the Export menu
Click Export in the toolbar, then SVG (.svg).
- 3
Download
The .svg is written in the browser and saved straight to your downloads folder. No queue, no email, no watermark.
What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from FBX into SVG, and what does not.
| Geometry | Reduced | The 3-D model is projected to the current view and written as 2-D paths, with hidden lines removed. It becomes a drawing, not a model. |
|---|---|---|
| Colors and materials | Reduced | FBX can hold material colors and SVG holds one color per object, so materials are flattened to that. |
| Textures | Dropped | SVG does not carry texture images, so a textured model arrives in flat material colors. |
| Layers and structure | Dropped | SVG is a single flat body with no layers or named parts. Everything merges into one object. If you need the structure, export to GLB, OBJ, DXF instead. |
| Units and scale | Dropped | SVG stores no unit. Coordinates are written in meters, so set the import unit to meters if the destination asks. |
What the SVG writer emits: From a 3-D model: the same visibility pass as the vector PDF, written as SVG paths, with hidden lines clipped. From a drawing: a direct translation of the line work, keeping strokes, fills, gradients, dash patterns, clipping and live text.
The source: Autodesk FBX (.fbx)
Meshes, the node hierarchy and material colors from binary and text FBX.
The target: Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg)
Resolution-independent vector art for web pages, documents and further editing.
Opens in: Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, any browser.
Your file never leaves your computer
Both the FBX parser and the SVG writer are JavaScript and WebAssembly running in your own browser tab. There is no upload step, no server-side conversion queue, and no copy of your file anywhere but your machine. That matters for drawings under NDA, for client work, and for anything you would not email to a stranger.

Yes. No signup, no watermark, no per-file limit and no paid tier. Innerscene.
▶Is my FBX file uploaded anywhere?

▶Will my colors and materials survive the SVG export?
FBX can hold material colors and SVG holds one color per object, so materials are flattened to that.
▶Do layers and named parts carry into the SVG file?
SVG is a single flat body with no layers or named parts. Everything merges into one object. If you need the structure, export to GLB, OBJ, DXF instead.
▶Will the SVG open at the right size?
SVG stores no unit. Coordinates are written in meters, so set the import unit to meters if the destination asks.
▶How large an FBX file can I convert?
Up to 200 MB, and the ceiling adapts to how much memory your device reports. The conversion runs on your own hardware, so a desktop with plenty of RAM will handle more than a phone.
