What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from Creo View into DXF, and what does not.

What the DXF writer emits: ASCII R12 DXF, which opens in every AutoCAD release back to 1992. A 3-D model writes every triangle as a 3DFACE, in millimeters and Z-up. A drawing writes LINE, POLYLINE, ARC, CIRCLE, TEXT and SOLID in the drawing’s own units, on layers named after the source layers, with color as the nearest ACI palette index. Georeferenced data (a survey, a map) goes back on its map grid, in the grid’s unit.

The product structure of a Creo View package: assemblies, sub-assemblies and every placed part, drawn from the tessellated faces and edges of its .ol shape files, in each face’s saved colour, the colour the structure gives a part, and the transparency set on an occurrence, with pictures mapped where the package holds them, in metres. A lone .ol part opens too, and a .pvs structure file asks for its .ol files. Datum planes are left out.
