How to convert JT to PLY

What survives the conversion
A file conversion is a translation, and formats do not carry the same things. Here is exactly what moves from JT into PLY, and what does not.

What the PLY writer emits: Binary little-endian PLY with x/y/z and per-vertex RGB, faces for meshes, edges for linework, vertices only for clouds.
The source: JT (ISO 14306) (.jt)
The product structure of a JT file: every assembly, sub-assembly and placed part, drawn from the most detailed tessellation of each shape, in its saved colour, at its saved position and in the file’s units. JT 8, 9 and 10 files open, and so do Siemens NX parts (.prt) through the JT display data NX saves inside them. A multi-file JT assembly places the part files that arrive with it and names the rest. The exact B-rep and PMI are not read.
