Watch how it works
How it works
- 1. Describe the documentSay what it is, who it is for, how long it should be and what it must cover. Add photos, or open your own .docx to have it edited.
- 2. The AI writes and checks itThe AI writes the document for Innerscene's document engine, which saves a real Word file. It then reads pictures of the pages and fixes what is wrong.
- 3. Refine and download the .docxThe document opens in the viewer's Word view. Ask for changes in the chat or edit it yourself, then download the .docx or a PDF.
Why make it with AI here
- Headings, lists and tables are real Word styles and numbering, so the navigation pane, the table of contents and later edits work in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages.
- The AI checks pictures of the pages after each build: skipped heading levels, tables wider than the page, lists typed by hand, headings left alone at the bottom of a page and documents longer than you asked for.
- Pictures of 3D models, floor plans and buildings made in the same chat, and photos you add, go straight into the document with captions.
What the document engine writes
- Styles and headings
- Title, Heading 1 to 4, quotes, captions and your own named styles, with theme fonts and an accent colour, so one style change in Word restyles the whole document.
- Lists and tables
- Numbered, lettered and bulleted lists with real Word numbering, nested several levels deep. Tables with header rows that repeat on every page, merged cells, shading and column widths.
- Pages
- Letter, A4, A3, A5 or Legal, portrait or landscape, margins, a cover page, page breaks, and headers and footers with a logo, page numbers and the date.
- Contents and notes
- A table of contents with page numbers, footnotes, links inside the document and to the web, callout boxes for warnings and tips, and signature lines.
- Pictures
- Photos you attach, and pictures of 3D models, floor plans, cut files and buildings made in the same chat, sized to the text column with captions.
- Editing your own .docx
- Text, headings, lists, tables, pictures, the header and footer, a table of contents and footnotes come through. Text boxes, charts, SmartArt, drawn shapes, equations, tracked changes and comments are left out, and the panel lists them before the AI starts.
Prompts to try
Click one to open it in the AI panel, then change the sizes to suit.
Getting the document into Word
- Download the .docx once the document opens in the viewer. It opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer and Apple Pages.
- Download a PDF made from the same page layout to send or print, or a plain-text Markdown copy.
- Make your own changes in the viewer's Word view first if you like: type, format, add tables and pictures, then save the .docx.
The file is a standard Office Open XML document with built-in styles (Title, Heading 1 to 4, List Paragraph, Caption), real numbering definitions, page-number fields and a table of contents field that Word updates. The page size follows your request: Letter in the US and Canada, A4 elsewhere.
Best export formats: Word (.docx), PDF (vector), Markdown (.md)
Good to know
The AI and the viewer's Word view handle text, headings, lists, tables, pictures, headers and footers, a table of contents and footnotes. When the AI edits a .docx you opened, parts it cannot hold are left out of the new version, and the panel lists them before you start: text boxes, charts, SmartArt, drawn shapes, equations, tracked changes, comments, content controls, section breaks and text columns. Check facts, figures and legal wording before you send a document.
Cost and privacy
You use your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. It is stored only in your browser and sent only to that provider, which bills you directly: a model typically costs $0.05 to $0.30 at Standard quality and up to about $1 at Detailed, and Innerscene charges nothing. Your key and prompts are not sent to Innerscene; we record anonymous usage statistics such as the steps used, the model chosen, token counts, a cost estimate and whether a model was made.
