AI Model Generator for Revit Furniture and casework, free

Describe furniture, casework or equipment and the AI builds it at real size. There is no .rvt writer, so export IFC and link it into the project, or export SAT or DWG and import it into a family.

Free. Use your own Anthropic or OpenAI key.

Also from Innerscene: Circadian Lab, a free lighting calculator for room illuminance, melanopic EML, and glare.

Need a floor plan? The same AI can also draw furnished floor plans as DWG, with walls, doors, room areas and dimensions.

Need the whole building as a BIM model? The AI can also build IFC buildings with storeys, walls, doors, windows, rooms and lights.

Watch how it works

How it works

  1. 1. Describe it or add a photoType what you want in plain words, with sizes if you know them, or add a photo as a reference. Describe an object or a person.
  2. 2. The AI builds and checks itThe AI writes an OpenSCAD program for an object, or sets up the character generator for a person. It looks at six rendered views of the result and fixes what is wrong, up to five builds per message.
  3. 3. Refine and exportThe model opens in the viewer at real size. Ask for changes in the chat, move the sliders, then download it or pick a format from the Export menu.

Why make it with AI here

  • Get placeholder furniture and equipment into a model before specified content is available.
  • Custom casework or reception desks can be sized to the plan in a single prompt.
  • Importing SAT into a family lets you add your own parameters, categories and materials in Revit.

Prompts to try

Click one to open it in the AI panel, then change the sizes to suit.

Getting the model into Revit

  1. For a whole object, export IFC4 and use Insert > Link IFC, or open the IFC directly.
  2. For a family, export SAT (ACIS) or DWG.
  3. Create a new family from a template such as Furniture, then use Insert > Import CAD.
  4. Set the category and materials, save the family and load it into your project.

IFC and SAT bring faceted geometry, so Revit treats it as imported geometry inside the family. It will not flex with family parameters.

Best export formats: IFC, SAT (ACIS), DWG

Good to know

Imported geometry does not become native Revit extrusions, so you cannot edit its shape with family parameters. Large faceted imports slow down views if used in high numbers.

Cost and privacy

You use your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. It is stored only in your browser and sent only to that provider, which bills you directly: a model typically costs $0.05 to $0.30 at Standard quality and up to about $1 at Detailed, and Innerscene charges nothing. Your key and prompts are not sent to Innerscene; we record anonymous usage statistics such as the steps used, the model chosen, token counts, a cost estimate and whether a model was made.

Questions

▶Can AI create Revit families?
It creates the geometry. Export SAT or DWG and import it into a family template, then add the category and parameters in Revit.
▶Should I use IFC or SAT for Revit?
Use IFC to link a finished object into a project quickly. Use SAT or DWG when you want it inside a loadable family.
▶Will the family be parametric?
No. The imported shape stays fixed. Change the size in the AI panel and import again.
▶Which Revit versions does it work with?
Any version that links IFC4 or imports SAT and DWG into families, which covers current releases.
