Watch how it works
How it works
- 1. Describe it or add a photoType what you want in plain words, with sizes if you know them, or add a photo as a reference. Describe an object or a person.
- 2. The AI builds and checks itThe AI writes an OpenSCAD program for an object, or sets up the character generator for a person. It looks at six rendered views of the result and fixes what is wrong, up to five builds per message.
- 3. Refine and exportThe model opens in the viewer at real size. Ask for changes in the chat, move the sliders, then download it or pick a format from the Export menu.
Why make it with AI here
- Custom pieces fit the room you are designing: a banquette to a 2.7 m wall, a vanity to a 1500 mm niche, a bookcase to the ceiling height.
- Each piece is a named component with named parts, and repeated parts such as chairs around a table or doors on a cabinet run share one definition.
- Materials arrive with real names such as Walnut, Boucle or Brushed brass, so they are easy to find and replace in SketchUp's Materials panel.
Prompts to try
Click one to open it in the AI panel, then change the sizes to suit.
Placing the furniture in your SketchUp model
- Choose For SketchUp (.skp) in the AI panel's Made for picker, or end your request with "for SketchUp".
- Click Download .skp under the version you like.
- In your project, use File > Import and pick the .skp: it comes in as one component that you place with a click.
- Copy it around the plan, or right-click it and choose Make Unique to change one copy on its own.
Flat sides are single faces and round parts use 24 to 48 segments with soft edges, so a room full of furniture stays quick to orbit. Export GLB as well when you need the same piece for AR or a web page.
Best export formats: SketchUp (.skp), GLB, DAE (COLLADA)
Good to know
Upholstery comes out cleanly tailored: deep button tufting, loose cushions and draped fabric are simplified. Materials are flat colours without wood grain or fabric textures, so apply your own textured materials in SketchUp for presentation renders.
Cost and privacy
You use your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. It is stored only in your browser and sent only to that provider, which bills you directly: a model typically costs $0.05 to $0.30 at Standard quality and up to about $1 at Detailed, and Innerscene charges nothing. Your key and prompts are not sent to Innerscene; we record anonymous usage statistics such as the steps used, the model chosen, token counts, a cost estimate and whether a model was made.
