An example building made with AI
Watch how it works
How it works
- 1. Describe the buildingSay what the building is for, how many storeys, the rooms you need and rough sizes, or add a photo of a sketch or a floor plan.
- 2. The AI builds and checks itThe AI writes a building description for Innerscene's building engine, then looks at a plan of each storey and 3D views of the model and fixes what is wrong.
- 3. Refine and download the IFCThe building opens in the viewer with its storeys and properties. Ask for changes in the chat, then download the IFC, the DWG floor plans or a GLB.
Why make it with AI here
- Every element is a real IFC object (IfcWall, IfcSlab, IfcRoof, IfcStair, IfcDoor, IfcWindow, IfcSpace, IfcFurniture, IfcLightFixture) on its own storey, with its name and properties.
- Rooms are IfcSpace objects with their names and measured floor areas, so a schedule of rooms comes straight out of the model.
- The AI checks a plan of each storey and 3D views of the whole building after every build, so rooms are enclosed, doors are reachable and storeys line up.
Prompts to try
Click one to open it in the AI panel, then change the sizes to suit.
Getting the building into your BIM app
- Download the IFC once the building opens in the viewer.
- In Revit, use Open > IFC; in Archicad, File > Open; in Vectorworks, Import IFC; in Blender, open it with the Bonsai add-on.
- Download the DWG floor plans for AutoCAD, or open the Export menu for GLB, SketchUp and other formats.
The IFC file is IFC4 in millimetres, with a site, a building and one storey per level. Walls, slabs and roofs carry their thickness and material names, doors and windows sit in openings in their walls, and light fixtures keep their product name.
Best export formats: IFC, DWG, GLB, SketchUp (.skp)
Good to know
Buildings use straight walls, flat or pitched roofs and standard stairs; curved and free-form shapes, structural design, MEP systems and building code checks are not part of it. It is a starting model for design studies and coordination, and it needs a professional review before construction.
Cost and privacy
You use your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key. It is stored only in your browser and sent only to that provider, which bills you directly: a model typically costs $0.05 to $0.30 at Standard quality and up to about $1 at Detailed, and Innerscene charges nothing. Your key and prompts are not sent to Innerscene; we record anonymous usage statistics such as the steps used, the model chosen, token counts, a cost estimate and whether a model was made.
