When you need to pass a Navisworks model to someone who does not have Navisworks, open the NWD on these pages and download the format they need. This tutorial opens a four-storey apartment building, a public domain Revit model as a Navisworks file. Tools, then Layers, shows the Revit categories the file kept (walls, doors, windows, furniture), and every export carries them. Download DWG writes the whole building as a 3D DWG in a few seconds, at real size, with each Revit category on its own layer and repeated parts (the same door or basin in every flat) written once as blocks; we open it in the free DWG viewer to check the geometry, colours and layers. A very large model can hold more triangles than a DWG of 3D faces takes; then the file holds a simplified copy and the viewer says so. Export, DWG floor plans, cuts every level 1.2 m above the floor and saves all four plans in one drawing, each level on its own layers. Export, IFC for Revit and BIM, writes one IFC product per Revit element, in storeys, with its Revit element ID and category; we check it in the free IFC viewer. Last, the other formats: STL for 3D printing, OBJ, GLB for the web, AR and Blender, FBX for 3ds Max, Unreal Engine and Twinmotion, STEP for SolidWorks and Fusion, SketchUp, Rhino and PDF floor plans, each also on its own converter page.
