A small free helper that makes double-clicking a 3D model open it straight in the Innerscene viewer. 28 formats, 60 extensions, and your files never leave your computer.

The free Innerscene 3D Viewer app opens the same 28 formats on iOS. Tap a model in Files, Mail or any app that can share one, and orbit, measure, explode or convert it on the device it arrived on.
It can also scan a room. Walk around with the camera and the app builds a 3D model of the walls, doors, windows and furniture, ready to open, measure and export like any other model. Needs iOS 17 and a device with a LiDAR sensor.

How it works
Install it
It installs for your user account only: no administrator password and no system changes.
Pick your file types
A checklist shows every supported format. Anything no other application already owns comes pre-selected, and you can change it at any time.
Double-click a model
The file opens in your browser in the Innerscene 3D viewer, where you can orbit, measure, explode, share or convert it.
What the helper does
- Keeps your files private. Opening a model hands the file to your browser over your own machine, on a connection nothing outside it can reach. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to create a share link.
- Respects the applications you already use. A file type that belongs to another program stays with it, and the viewer is simply added to the Open With menu.
- Gives each file type its own icon, so a folder of mixed formats stays readable instead of showing one generic square.
- Finds textures that sit beside the model. A 3ds Max scene records the paths of its textures rather than storing them, so the helper looks for those images next to the file and sends them along with the scene.

Changing your mind later
- On Windows, search the Start menu for "Innerscene 3D Viewer file associations" to reopen the checklist, or uninstall from Settings, Apps. Every association it created is removed with it.
- On macOS, open the app from your Applications folder for the same checklist, which also has a button that releases every association at once. Uninstalling is dragging the app to the Trash.
