How to Open DWF Files Online for Free (DWF Viewer + DWF to DWG and PDF)

This tutorial opens a four-sheet DWF construction set (cover, floor plan, lighting plan and fixture details) and walks through everything the free DWF viewer does: the sheet picker, zoom and pan, layers, sharing a link, embedding the viewer on your own site, and converting DWF to DWG, DXF, PDF, SVG, HTML, PNG and JPG. DWF and DWFx files published from AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor and Civil 3D open. It works on phones and tablets, and there are free apps for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android. No software to install and no account needed.

Intro
Here is how to open and view a D W F file for free, in your web browser, with no Autodesk software to install.
Open the DWF viewer
Go to innerscene.com/tools/dwf-viewer. There is no account to create, and the file is read right here in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you share it.
Open a DWF file
Click Open a DWF File, or drop the file on the page. D W F and D W F X files published from AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor or Civil 3D all open. This one is a four-sheet construction set for a lighting studio: a cover, the floor plan, the lighting plan and the fixture details.
Sheets
The sheet picker in the corner steps through the set. Each sheet opens with its title block, just as it was plotted.
Zoom and pan
Scroll to zoom in toward the cursor, and drag to move around. Lines and text stay sharp at any zoom. The bottom button in the corner fits the whole sheet again.
Layers
Tools, then Layers, lists the layers the sheet was published with. Untick one to hide it. Here the ceiling grid goes, then the circuits, so only the light fittings are left.
Share a link
Share uploads the set and gives you a link that opens it just as you left it, for email, chat or LinkedIn. You can also embed this viewer, with your drawings, on your own website, using the code from Share.
Convert DWF to DWG, PDF and images
Export converts the sheet: D W G and D X F for AutoCAD and other CAD programs. A vector PDF that prints sharp at any size, S V G, a self-contained H T M L page with its layers, or a P N G or J P G image. Here the lighting plan saves as a D W G, ready to edit in AutoCAD.
On a phone
On a phone, open the same page and the file from your phone, a cloud drive or an email. Pinch to zoom and drag to move around.
