Blender BLEND design review
Review a Blender BLEND scene in VR
A Blender design can be reviewed from its saved BLEND file in a headset browser. Inspect the stored mesh scene, its object placement and the proportions of a room, exhibition layout or product composition.
Open the file on a compatible WebXR device, then press Enter VR.
Private local review, directly from the file
Open your file directly on the device running the headset browser. The browser parses it locally, so a confidential model stays on that device during local viewing. No conversion, no plugin, no upload, no account.
The optional Send to VR headset workflow on a computer uploads a local file after your confirmation to create a hosted share and pairing code. Choose direct local opening on the headset when your model needs to stay on that device. An already hosted model can also be opened from its URL.
Inspect the spatial composition saved in the Blender scene
An exhibition layout or interior scene asks how objects read from the visitor viewpoint. A headset makes it easier to inspect the depth between displays, the view around a partition and the relative prominence of suspended elements. Start with one composition and use the headset to gather specific design questions.
The BLEND reader reconstructs saved mesh objects with their transforms and uses collections as layers. That organisation is useful when checking which parts of the scene belong in the review. Inspect the actual loaded geometry before treating it as the reference for the discussion.
Prepare stored meshes for modifier-driven designs
The browser reads the mesh data stored in the file. Blender modifiers and Geometry Nodes describe operations evaluated by Blender, so a saved base mesh can differ from the evaluated design seen in the authoring viewport. Compare the received scene with the intended result before the review.
When an evaluated shape is essential, ask the author to apply the relevant result to mesh data in a review copy and save that copy. Packed image textures can travel with the scene. A clear collection structure also helps you choose the room, display or product geometry that matters.
How to open Blender BLEND in VR
- 1
Open the Blender BLEND viewer in your headset browser
Use a browser and device that support immersive WebXR. Make your file available through that device’s file picker, then open the viewer.
- 2
Choose your file and inspect the loaded model
Open the local file, check the geometry in the ordinary 3D view and confirm the source units and a familiar dimension. Choose the visible layers that explain your review.
- 3
Press Enter VR
Use the VR control after the model loads and accept the headset session prompt. The model starts at an inspection size, with its largest dimension fitted to 1.5 metres. Use the controllers to position, rotate and scale it.
Blender scene scale feeds the metre-based imported scene
The reader uses the Blender scene unit scale to transform coordinates into metres and adjusts the source orientation for the viewer. Check the saved unit settings and a known object dimension in the ordinary viewer, especially when assets from several sources share one BLEND.
VR starts by fitting the imported scene into 1.5 metres and provides visual enlargement and reduction. That stage is useful for composition review. Use the ordinary viewer measurements to document the actual dimensions implied by the scene settings.
Position the composition around the review viewpoint
Orient the scene at the starting scale, enlarge the relevant area and grip it into place. Use height adjustment to compare a view across a display with one beneath an overhead element. Your physical head movement adds depth while the controls let you reposition the composition for each question.
Position the model with your controllers
- Hold a grip
- Grab the model and move it with the controller.
- Right stick left or right
- Rotate the model in 30 degree steps.
- Right stick up or down
- Enlarge or reduce the model visually.
- Left stick up or down
- Move the model closer or farther away.
- Left stick left or right
- Raise or lower the model.
- Move your head
- Inspect from different viewpoints within your headset boundary.
The controls position the model around you. The ordinary browser view is restored when you leave the headset session.
Blender BLEND VR questions
â–¶Can I open the BLEND directly for a headset review?
Yes. The viewer reads saved Blender mesh data directly in the browser and uses that loaded scene for VR. Check the recovered geometry and collection layers before the session.
â–¶How should I prepare a Blender design built with modifiers?
Compare the browser result with the intended evaluated design. For shapes that depend on modifiers or Geometry Nodes, save a review copy with the needed result applied to mesh data. This gives the recipient stored geometry to inspect.
â–¶How can I keep a confidential model local during VR review?
Open your file directly on the device running the headset browser. The browser parses it locally, so a confidential model stays on that device during local viewing. No conversion, no plugin, no upload, no account. The optional Send to VR headset workflow on a computer uploads a local file after your confirmation to create a hosted share and pairing code. Choose direct local opening on the headset when your model needs to stay on that device. An already hosted model can also be opened from its URL.
â–¶How does model scale work in this VR viewer?
The initial VR stage fits the largest model dimension to 1.5 metres. The right controller stick changes the presentation scale visually. Use checked dimensions in the ordinary viewer for exact sizing; the current VR controls provide adjustable presentation scale.
â–¶What does the headset browser need?
It needs immersive WebXR support and access to the model file. Open the viewer in a compatible headset browser, select the file and use the VR control after loading. The ordinary 3D view is also available on desktop and mobile browsers.
