Abstract

Summary

This paper examines retinal ganglion cell degeneration in glaucoma through the lens of reactive astrogliosis, a pathological response of glial cells to CNS injury. While not directly focused on lighting design, understanding glaucoma-related retinal damage has implications for protecting ipRGC populations that mediate non-visual light responses critical for circadian health.
