Free Online Screen RecorderNo Install, No Upload

Record your screen, edit the video, and download — all in your browser. No software to install, no account to create, and your recordings never leave your device.

Why Use a Browser-Based Screen Recorder?

Most screen recording tools require you to download and install software, create an account, or pay for a subscription. Many free alternatives add watermarks or time limits.

Innerscene’s screen recorder runs entirely in your browser using the Screen Capture API and MediaRecorder API. Your video is recorded and processed locally — nothing is uploaded to any server. It works on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on any operating system.

How to Record Your Screen

  1. 1Click Start Recording and choose which screen, window, or browser tab to capture. Optionally enable microphone and webcam.
  2. 2Record your screen. A 5-second countdown gives you time to prepare. Press Space or stop sharing to finish recording.
  3. 3Use the built-in editor to trim, crop, and adjust PiP position. Click Download Video to save.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this screen recorder really free?

Yes, completely free with no limits. There are no watermarks, no time limits, and no account required. The recorder runs entirely in your browser.

Are my recordings uploaded to a server?

No. All recording and video processing happens locally in your browser using the Screen Capture API and MediaRecorder API. Your video never leaves your device.

What browsers support screen recording?

Screen recording works in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on desktop. Safari has limited support. Mobile browsers do not support the Screen Capture API, so a desktop browser is required.

Can I record my screen and camera at the same time?

Yes. Check the “Include camera (PiP)” option before recording. Your webcam will be recorded as a separate track that you can position, resize, and shape (circle or rectangle) in the editor.

Can I trim and crop my recording?

Yes. After recording, the built-in editor lets you trim the start and end using timeline handles, and crop the video area using 8-point drag handles. All edits are applied during export.

What export formats are available?

Recordings are exported as WebM (VP9 codec) which is supported by all modern browsers and video players. You can choose from multiple quality levels (Original, High, Medium, Low, Web-optimized) to control file size.

Is there a recording time limit?

No artificial limit. Recording length is only limited by your device’s available memory and storage. For very long recordings (over 30 minutes), a desktop browser with sufficient RAM is recommended.

Does it work on Mac, Windows, Linux, and Chromebook?

Yes. Any operating system with a supported desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) will work. The recorder uses standard web APIs and requires no software installation.
