Free Parts Library Terms

The Free Parts Library holds 3D models, CAD parts and 2D drawings contributed by people using the Innerscene 3D Viewer, plus parts we add from public-domain collections. Contributions are released under the CC0 1.0 Universal (Public Domain Dedication). Parts added from other collections carry their source’s status, shown on each part page: either CC0 or public domain as a work of the US federal government (17 U.S.C. §105), which applies in the United States and may differ elsewhere.

Contributor agreement

By adding a file to the Innerscene Free Parts Library you confirm and agree that:

  1. You created this file, or you otherwise hold every right needed to release it. It does not contain material owned by someone else (such as a manufacturer’s model, textures, logos or other brand assets) that you do not have permission to release.
  2. You dedicate the file to the public domain under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. Anyone may copy, modify, distribute and use it, including commercially, without asking permission or giving credit.
  3. You grant Innerscene Corp a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to host, copy, display, convert, distribute and otherwise make the file available through its websites and services, including creating preview images and converted versions of it.
  4. The file contains no personal or confidential information, no malware and nothing unlawful.
  5. Innerscene Corp may review, decline, edit the description of, or remove the file at any time. Library files are kept for a limited time that depends on their size (1 to 5 years) and are then deleted.
  6. The dedication cannot be withdrawn once the file is published. Copies other people have already made stay in the public domain even if the file is later removed from the library.

Using library parts

Parts are in the public domain. You may copy, modify, distribute and use them for any purpose, including commercially, without asking permission and without giving credit. Parts are provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind: check dimensions, fit and suitability yourself before relying on a part. CC0 does not grant rights in trademarks or patents that a part may depict.

How long parts are kept

Library files are kept for a limited time from submission, depending on their size:

  • Up to 5 MB: 5 years
  • 5 MB to 15 MB: 4 years
  • 15 MB to 30 MB: 3 years
  • 30 MB to 60 MB: 2 years
  • Over 60 MB: 1 year

Ordinary share links that are not in the library are kept for 90 days.

Review and removal

Submissions are reviewed before they appear. Innerscene Corp may decline, edit the description of, or remove any part at any time. If you believe a part infringes your rights, use Report on the part’s viewer page or follow our copyright policy.
