What Is a Remplanner File?
Remplanner is a web planner for flat renovations: you draw the walls, rooms, doors and windows of a flat, place the furniture, plumbing and electrics, and plan the work from there. A project saved from Remplanner is a .plan file. It holds JSON, and the newer “Plan 3.0” saves put that JSON in a ZIP.
The viewer reads the plan in your browser and builds it in 3D, in centimetres at real size. Every wall is extruded to its saved height, with its corners mitred where walls meet, and the doors, doorways and windows are cut through it; windows sit at their sill height with a pane of glass. Each room’s floor is drawn on a layer of its own, named with its area, and furniture and fittings stand in place as boxes at their saved size.
The flat exports like any 3D model, for example to GLB, OBJ or DWG. Chief Architect also uses the .plan extension, and the viewer tells the two apart by their content.
Who Uses Remplanner Files?
Homeowners plan their renovations in Remplanner, and designers, renovation contractors and estate agents use it to lay out a flat and its furniture. The .plan file travels to builders, family and clients who have no Remplanner account; this page shows the flat in any browser, with no sign-in.

Compatibility & Format Notes
What is drawn: every wall at its saved height with its mitred corners; the door, doorway and window openings cut through it, windows at their sill height with a pane of glass, and door-and-window balcony units as both; each room’s floor; the ceilings; balcony walls; and furniture and fittings that have a height (beds, sofas, wardrobes, tables, fridges and the like) as boxes at their saved size, turned and raised as saved and named by item. A project with several saved plan variants opens the variant selected for its floor.
Layers: Walls, Balcony walls, Windows, one layer per room named with its area (for example “Room 3 (15.10 m²)”), Ceilings, which start hidden, and Furniture.
Files: Remplanner .plan saves, both the JSON file and the zipped Plan 3.0 save. Plans are recognised by their content, so a renamed file still opens. A Chief Architect .plan is binary and opens with a notice naming Chief Architect.
Not drawn: sockets, light points and other markers with no height. Furniture is drawn as boxes at its saved size.

Your Files Stay on Your Computer
Your Remplanner files are parsed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or shared unless you explicitly click the Share button. Shared files are hosted for 90 days then deleted.
Frequently Asked Questions
▶Do I need a Remplanner account?
No. The viewer reads the .plan file with its own reader, in your browser. Nothing needs to be installed, and no account is needed.
▶My .plan file is from Chief Architect. Does it open here?
Chief Architect and Remplanner both use .plan. The viewer checks the content: a Remplanner plan opens as a 3D flat, and a Chief Architect plan opens with a notice that names Chief Architect.
▶Where do I see the area of each room?
Open the Layers panel. Each room’s floor is a layer of its own, named with the room and its area in square metres, for example “Room 3 (15.10 m²)”. Rooms left unnamed in Remplanner are numbered.
▶Why are the ceilings missing?
Ceilings are on their own layer, which starts hidden so you can look into the rooms from above. Turn on the Ceilings layer in the Layers panel to show them.
▶Is this Remplanner viewer really free?
Yes, completely free. No signup, no watermarks, no file size limits on the viewer (the optional share-link feature has a 100 MB upload cap). Built by Innerscene as a tool for architects, engineers, and designers.
▶Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All parsing, rendering, and conversion runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted by default. The Share button is the only feature that uploads a file, and only when you explicitly click it.
▶Can I convert to another format?
Yes. Click Export in the toolbar. The menu offers GLB, OBJ, STL, USDZ, 3MF, PLY, STEP (a faceted solid), DXF, DWG (converted on our server), PDF, SVG, PNG and JPG.
▶Can I embed this viewer on my own site?
Yes. Click Embed in the toolbar to generate a one-line <iframe> snippet you can paste into any HTML page. You can choose whether the embed shows the viewer’s toolbar.
