What Is an Email (MSG / EML) File?
An .msg file is Outlook’s own format for one message: a Microsoft compound file with a stream for each property (subject, sender, recipients, body) and a storage for each attachment. Outlook often keeps the body as rich text that wraps the original HTML. An .eml file is the Internet message itself as it travels between mail servers: header lines, then a MIME body in which the text, the HTML and each attachment are parts of their own, with the attachments encoded as base64.
This viewer reads both in your browser and treats the message like an archive of its attachments. A 3D model or CAD file attached to it opens straight away; a zip or another message attached to it is opened in turn; with no model, the best document opens (a PDF, a Word file, a picture). The file picker at the top lists every attachment and the message itself, and a message forwarded as an attachment has its own files listed under its subject.

Who Uses Email (MSG / EML) Files?
Anyone who receives drawings and models by email: a fabricator’s steel details, an architect’s plan set, a supplier’s product model. Messages get saved to a project folder, dragged onto the desktop or forwarded as attachments, and later opened on a machine with no Outlook or no CAD program. This page opens the message and the model inside it in any browser.

Compatibility & Format Notes
Files: Outlook .msg messages (Unicode and the older ANSI kind, in the code page the message declares) and .eml messages from any mail app. An .eml saved without an extension, named after its subject, is recognized by its header lines.
What opens: every attachment the viewer reads on its own, including models, CAD drawings, archives, PDFs, Word and Excel files and pictures, and messages attached to the message, three levels deep. The body is shown from its HTML, from the HTML Outlook keeps inside its rich-text body, or from its plain text.
Not shown: pictures a message links to on the internet, scripts and forms, and calendar or contact items. A message encrypted with S/MIME shows its header only.

No. The viewer reads the message with its own reader, in your browser, on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS or Android.
▶Which attachment opens first?
A 3D model or CAD file, when the message has one. Next an attached archive or message, then a document such as a PDF. The file picker at the top lists every attachment and the message itself, so you can move between them.
▶Is it safe to open a message here?
Yes. The message page is shown with scripts switched off and nothing loaded from the internet, so tracking pictures and links in the message do nothing. Attachments are read as data by the viewer and never run.
▶Can I open a forwarded message inside the message?
Yes. A message attached to a message (Outlook’s “forward as attachment”, or an .eml inside an .eml) is read too, and its attachments appear in the file picker under its subject.
▶Is this email viewer really free?
Yes, completely free. No signup, no watermarks, no file size limits on the viewer (the optional share-link feature has a 100 MB upload cap). Built by Innerscene as a tool for architects, engineers, and designers.
▶Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All parsing, rendering, and conversion runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted by default. The Share button is the only feature that uploads a file, and only when you explicitly click it.
▶Can I convert to another format?
The message page saves as one self-contained HTML file with its header, its body and the pictures sent inside it, and no script. An attachment you open exports as its own format: a model as GLB, OBJ, STL or STEP, a drawing as DXF, DWG or PDF.
▶Can I embed this viewer on my own site?
