Free Online EdrawMax Diagram Viewer (No Signup)

An .eddx file is a Wondershare EdrawMax diagram: one or more pages of shapes, connectors and text, such as a flowchart, an org chart, a floor plan or a network diagram. View and convert EdrawMax diagrams (.eddx) in your browser.

Also opens DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES, IFC, SKP, STL, OBJ, GLB, FBX, 3DM and other 3D/CAD files. Drop any file on the viewer.

Works directly in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge

Also from Innerscene: Circadian Lab, a free lighting calculator for room illuminance, melanopic EML, and glare.

What Is an EdrawMax Diagram File?

Wondershare EdrawMax (earlier Edraw Max) is a diagramming program for Windows, macOS, Linux and the web, used for flowcharts, UML and database diagrams, org charts, mind maps, floor plans, network and electrical diagrams, infographics and many other kinds of drawing. It saves its documents as .eddx: a ZIP package with an XML part for every page, listing the page’s shapes with their geometry, fill, line and text.

This viewer reads that package with its own reader, in your browser, and draws each page as a vector drawing at its paper size: shapes and groups with their fills and lines, connectors with their arrowheads, and the text in each shape. A file with several pages opens on its first page, with a page list for the others.

A page exports as PDF, SVG, DXF, PNG or a self-contained HTML page. Visio drawings open in the VSDX viewer.

Who Uses EdrawMax Diagram Files?

Students and teachers, engineers, IT and network administrators, business analysts, project managers and office planners who draw in EdrawMax, and everyone they send a diagram to who has no EdrawMax installed or no subscription: on a Mac, a Chromebook, a phone, or a Windows PC.

Common Use Cases

  • See a flowchart, org chart or network diagram someone sent as .eddx without EdrawMax
  • Look through every page of a multi-page diagram
  • Turn an EdrawMax page into a PDF or SVG at its paper size
  • Get a floor plan or a layout into CAD as DXF
  • Save a PNG of a diagram for a report, a slide or an email
  • Check an old diagram after an EdrawMax subscription has ended

Compatibility & Format Notes

The viewer reads .eddx diagrams saved by the desktop versions of EdrawMax and Edraw Max and by EdrawMax Online. Every page opens at its paper size in millimetres, picked from the page list, and the status line gives the page name and its size.

It draws each shape’s geometry (lines, arcs, curves and closed outlines), placed, rotated and flipped inside its groups; fills with their colour; lines with their weight, colour, dash pattern and arrowheads; connectors between shapes; and the text in each shape.

Shadows, glow and other effects are left out. Documents from Edraw versions before 2013 (.edx and .edxz) are not read; open those in EdrawMax and save them as .eddx, or export them as PDF or SVG. Nothing is sent to a server.

Share as a single HTML file

Export the drawing as one .html file that opens in any web browser, offline, with pan, zoom and layer toggles. The person you send it to needs no CAD software, no install and no account.

Your Files Stay on Your Computer

Your EdrawMax Diagram files are parsed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or shared unless you explicitly click the Share button. Shared files are hosted for 90 days then deleted.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶How do I open an EDDX file without EdrawMax?

Drop it on this page. The viewer reads the diagram in your browser and shows its first page, with the page list for the others, on Windows, a Mac, a Chromebook, Linux or a phone alike. From the Export menu you can save a page as PDF, SVG, DXF, PNG or JPG.

▶How do I move between pages?

Diagrams with more than one page show a page list above the drawing. Pick a page to open it.

▶Will the exported PDF or SVG be the right size?

Yes. Each page is drawn at its paper size in millimetres, so the SVG export carries that size and the vector PDF export draws the page at 1:1.

▶Why do the shadows on my shapes not show?

The viewer draws each shape’s outline, fill, line and text. Shadows, glow, reflections and other effects EdrawMax adds on top are left out, so the page looks flatter than in EdrawMax while every shape, connector and label stays in place.

▶Is this EdrawMax viewer really free?

Yes, completely free. No signup, no watermarks, no file size limits on the viewer (the optional share-link feature has a 100 MB upload cap). Built by Innerscene as a tool for architects, engineers, and designers.

▶Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All parsing, rendering, and conversion runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted by default. The Share button is the only feature that uploads a file, and only when you explicitly click it.

▶Can I convert to another format?

Yes, to vector and image formats. Click Export in the toolbar to save the page as PDF (a vector page at its paper size), SVG, DXF, a self-contained HTML page, or a PNG or JPG image. DWG is also offered: that one is converted on our server from the DXF the viewer writes. The viewer does not write .eddx.

▶Can I embed this viewer on my own site?

Yes. Click Embed in the toolbar to generate a one-line <iframe> snippet you can paste into any HTML page. You can choose whether the embed shows the viewer’s toolbar.
