Free Online Cinema 4D Viewer (No Signup)

A .c4d file is a scene saved by Maxon Cinema 4D. This viewer opens it in 3D, in your browser: polygon objects, splines, primitives and the common generators (Extrude, Boolean, Symmetry, Cloner, Lathe, Sweep, Loft, Subdivision Surface), placed through the object tree, in their material colours. View and convert Cinema 4D scenes in your browser.

Also opens DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES, IFC, SKP, STL, OBJ, GLB, FBX, 3DM and other 3D/CAD files. Drop any file on the viewer.

Works directly in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge

Also from Innerscene: Circadian Lab, a free lighting calculator for room illuminance, melanopic EML, and glare.

Private by default. Files are parsed locally in your browser. Uploading is only required if you choose to share a link.

What Is a Cinema 4D File?

Cinema 4D is Maxon’s 3D modelling, animation and rendering application, used for motion graphics, product shots and architectural visualisation. Its scenes are saved as .c4d files.

A .c4d file stores most objects as settings rather than polygons: a Cube is its size, an Extrude is its spline and its depth, a Boolean is the objects it combines. The viewer reads the scene with its own reader and rebuilds the common primitives and generators itself, in your browser, so a scene opens without Cinema 4D. Polygon objects, splines, UVs and the material colours are read as saved, and a scene saved with its textures (zipped with its tex folder) draws them.

The scene exports like any 3D model, for example to GLB, OBJ or STL.

Who Uses Cinema 4D Files?

Motion designers, 3D artists, architects and visualisation studios work in Cinema 4D. Their .c4d scenes reach clients, colleagues and developers who do not have a Cinema 4D licence; this page shows the scene in any browser, with no sign-in.

Common Use Cases

  • Look at a Cinema 4D scene someone sent you without Cinema 4D
  • Check a model or a visualisation scene on a laptop, tablet or phone
  • Measure between objects in centimetres
  • Bring the scene into Blender, a game engine or a slicer as GLB, OBJ, FBX or STL
  • See which generators a scene uses before opening it in Cinema 4D
  • Send a share link that opens the scene in any browser

Features

Opens Cinema 4D .c4d Files

Scenes saved by Cinema 4D R12 and later, up to 2025, and the polygon objects of older scenes.

Generators Rebuilt

Extrude, Boolean, Symmetry, Cloner, Lathe, Sweep, Loft and Subdivision Surface, built in your browser.

Primitives From Their Settings

Cube, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone, Tube, Plane and Torus, and the Circle, Rectangle and Star splines.

Materials and Textures

Every object in its material colour, with its textures when the scene comes zipped with its tex folder.

Object Tree

Objects stay grouped under their parents, and those hidden in the viewport open hidden.

A Note of What Is Missing

Deformers and generators the viewer does not rebuild, and proxies, are named under the scene.

Convert to GLB, OBJ or STL

Save the scene as GLB, OBJ, STL, FBX, 3MF, USDZ, STEP or DXF, or the view as PDF, PNG or JPG.

Nothing Is Uploaded

The file is read and drawn entirely in your browser. No account, no upload, no copy of your scene on a server.

Share and Embed

Send a link that opens the scene in any browser, or drop the viewer into your own page with one iframe.

Compatibility & Format Notes

What is drawn: polygon objects with their UVs and materials (texture tags, also restricted to polygon selections); splines as lines; Cube, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone, Tube, Plane, Torus and the Circle, Rectangle, Star, n-Side, Arc, Helix and Text splines from their settings (Text in the Liberation faces, as a .c4d never carries its font); Extrude, Lathe, Sweep and Loft; Boolean; Symmetry, Array, Connect and the Cloner in linear, radial, grid, honeycomb and object modes; Subdivision Surface; Instances; the Bend, Twist, Taper, Bulge, Shear, Spherify, FFD and Bevel deformers; and any generator whose polygons were saved for Cineware. Objects hidden in the viewport start hidden, and objects switched off build nothing, as in Cinema 4D.

Files: scenes saved by Cinema 4D R12 (2010) and later, up to 2025; from scenes saved by R11.5 and older, the polygon objects. A .c4d never holds its texture images: upload the scene zipped with its tex folder (PNG, JPEG, TGA or TIFF) to see them.

Not drawn: other deformers such as Wind, Wrap and Melt (the object is drawn undeformed), other generators such as MoText, Metaball and Landscape, render proxies (Corona, Redshift, V-Ray), lights, cameras and animation. A note under the scene names everything that was left out.

Embed on Your Website

Add this viewer to your own site with a single line of HTML. Click Embed in the toolbar to generate an embed code, or use the snippet below with your own file URL.

Share as a single HTML file

Export the model as one .html file that opens in any web browser, offline, with orbit, pan and zoom. The person you send it to needs no 3D software, no install and no account.

Your Files Stay on Your Computer

Your Cinema 4D files are parsed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or shared unless you explicitly click the Share button. Shared files are hosted for 90 days then deleted.

Frequently Asked Questions

▶Do I need Cinema 4D to open a .c4d file here?

No. The viewer reads the .c4d file with its own reader, in your browser, on any computer, tablet or phone. Nothing needs to be installed, and no account is needed.

▶Why is part of my scene missing?

Cinema 4D builds generators and deformers when it opens a scene, and the file keeps only their settings. The viewer rebuilds the common ones; the note under the scene names the rest. In Cinema 4D, make those objects editable (Current State to Object), or export the scene as FBX or glTF, to see everything.

▶Why are my textures not shown?

A .c4d file records the names of its texture images, not the images. Zip the scene with its tex folder (Save Project with Assets does this) and upload the zip, or add the images when the viewer asks for them.

▶Is this Cinema 4D viewer really free?

Yes, completely free. No signup, no watermarks, no file size limits on the viewer (the optional share-link feature has a 100 MB upload cap). Built by Innerscene as a tool for architects, engineers, and designers.

▶Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All parsing, rendering, and conversion runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted by default. The Share button is the only feature that uploads a file, and only when you explicitly click it.

▶Can I convert to another format?

Yes. Click Export in the toolbar. The menu offers GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, FBX, DAE, USDZ, 3MF, PLY, STEP (a faceted solid), DXF, PDF, SVG, PNG and JPG.

▶Can I embed this viewer on my own site?

Yes. Click Embed in the toolbar to generate a one-line <iframe> snippet you can paste into any HTML page. You can choose whether the embed shows the viewer’s toolbar.
