Convert Autodesk FBX to GLB, OBJ, STL, PDF (Free)

Drop a .fbx file, choose a format, download. FBX is Autodesk’s 3D scene format and the long-time backbone of game-engine asset pipelines.

No upload, no signup, no software to install

100% private — your files are never uploaded. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Why Convert Autodesk FBX Files?

Game developers (Unity / Unreal pipelines), VFX studios, animators, and anyone moving rigged characters or props between content creation tools and runtime engines.

Converting to a more widely supported format means your model can open in any 3D tool, slicer, web viewer, or AR app — without asking the recipient to install specialized software.

How to Convert a Autodesk FBX File

  1. 1

    Open your Autodesk FBX file

Click "Open a Autodesk FBX File" above, or drag and drop your .fbx file onto the converter.

  2. 2

    Choose an output format

Click the "Export" button in the toolbar and select GLB, OBJ, STL, PDF.

  3. 3

    Download the converted file

Your file downloads instantly. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Output Formats

Autodesk FBX to GLB (glTF Binary)

Universal 3D format. Open in Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, web viewers, AR/VR apps, and Google’s model-viewer. Materials, textures, and PBR survive the round trip.

Autodesk FBX to OBJ (Wavefront)

One of the most universally supported 3D formats. Import into 3ds Max, Maya, Rhino, Cinema 4D, MeshLab, or virtually any 3D application.

Autodesk FBX to STL (Stereolithography)

The standard for 3D printing. Upload directly to your slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio) or a 3D printing service. Also used for CNC machining and FEA simulation.

Autodesk FBX to PDF (Snapshot)

Export the current camera view as a one-page PDF with header and footer captions — ideal for presentations, submittals, and email handoffs.

Compatibility & Format Notes

Both binary and ASCII FBX are supported, covering the FBX 6.x and 7.x versions Autodesk has shipped for the past two decades. Geometry, materials, and textures load. Skeletal animation playback isn’t exposed in the toolbar — the rest of the format loads without issue.

Your Files Stay on Your Computer

Both parsing and conversion run entirely in your browser. The exported files are generated locally and downloaded directly to your device — nothing is uploaded to any server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which FBX versions are supported?

Both binary and ASCII FBX from versions 6.x through 7.x are supported. That covers files exported from every Autodesk product (3ds Max, Maya, MotionBuilder) and from Blender, Unity, Unreal, and Cinema 4D.

Does this viewer load FBX animations?

The skeletal data is parsed and the rest pose is rendered. Animation timeline playback isn’t yet exposed in the toolbar — if you need it, click Report to vote for the feature.

Can I convert FBX to GLB?

Yes — click Export → glTF Binary. This is a popular conversion for game-engine pipelines moving assets from authoring tools to the open web.

Why is my FBX texture missing?

FBX usually references textures by external file path. If the referenced image files aren’t reachable, the texture won’t load. Embed textures inside the FBX when you export, or convert to GLB which bundles everything.

Is this FBX viewer really free?

Yes, completely free. No signup, no watermarks, no file size limits on the viewer (the optional share-link feature has a 30 MB upload cap). Built by Innerscene as a tool for architects, engineers, and designers.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All parsing, rendering, and conversion runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted by default. The Share button is the only feature that uploads a file, and only when you explicitly click it.

Can I convert to another format?

Yes. Click Export in the toolbar to save as STL (3D printing), OBJ (Wavefront), GLB (glTF binary), or PDF (snapshot of the current view).

Can I embed this viewer on my own site?

Yes. Click Embed in the toolbar to generate a one-line <iframe> snippet you can paste into any HTML page. You can choose whether the embed shows the viewer’s toolbar.
