About Color Temperature (CCT)

Innerscene Circadian Sky fixtures support an extended CCT range from 2,200K to 40,000K, enabling true sky-mimicking capabilities. The Casambi app interface only displays its standard range (typically 1,800K–10,000K), so Innerscene automatically maps Casambi CCT values to the fixture's full extended range. When you set a high CCT in Casambi, the fixture may produce an even higher equivalent color temperature for optimal circadian effect.

Getting Started with Casambi

1. Download the Casambi App

The Casambi app is available for free on both iOS and Android devices. Search for "Casambi" in the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Create or Join a Network

When you open the app for the first time, you'll need to either create a new network or join an existing one. For new installations, tap "Create new network".

Note: Innerscene fixtures with factory pre-commissioning will already be configured with network settings. Contact your installer for network access credentials.
Purchased Wall Dimmers from Innerscene? When purchasing Casambi wall dimmers as part of your order, the dimmer and fixtures may already be paired to a pre-configured network created prior to shipping. Locate and save the network password found inside the dimmer packaging — you'll need this to modify the network (add scenes, timers, etc.) in the Casambi app.

3. Discover Nearby Fixtures

Once connected to a network, the app will automatically discover nearby Casambi-enabled fixtures. You will see one "luminaire" appear for each Primary fixture you purchased and powered on. Secondary fixtures automatically synchronize with their Primary and do not appear separately in the app.

Understanding Primary & Secondary Fixtures

Each Innerscene installation uses Primary and Secondary fixtures:

  • Primary fixtures contain an integrated Casambi controller and serve as the "leader" for a zone
  • Secondary fixtures receive wireless signals from the Primary and follow its settings
  • Position the Primary fixture centrally to maximize wireless range (up to 50ft / 15m)
  • All fixtures in a zone should be on the same Casambi network

Basic Controls

Adjusting Brightness & Color

Long press (tap and hold) on any luminaire to open its control panel. This reveals sliders for brightness (0-100%) and color temperature.

💡 Tip: A quick tap toggles the light on/off. Long press opens the full control panel.

Adjusting Color Temperature

Innerscene Circadian Sky fixtures support an extended CCT range from 2,200K to 40,000K. Use the color temperature slider in the Casambi app to adjust warmth. The app displays its standard range, but Innerscene maps these values to the fixture's full extended range for optimal circadian effect.

Quick On/Off

Quick tap on any luminaire icon to toggle it on or off.

Grouping Fixtures

Only needed if you have multiple Primary fixtures (multiple Innerscene wireless groups). Go to "Groups" tab → tap "+" → select fixtures → name the group.

Scenes & Scheduling

Creating Scenes

Scenes save lighting configurations that can be recalled instantly. Set brightness/CCT → "Scenes" tab → "+" → name and save.

Automated Scheduling Options

Option 1: Innerscene Built-in

Built-in scheduling via WiFi interface. Connect to fixture's WiFi → access web interface → configure schedules.

Option 2: Casambi Timers

Create automated schedules in the app: "Timers" tab → "+" → select scene → set time (fixed/sunrise/sunset) → choose days → enable.

Circadian Lighting Profiles

What is Circadian Lighting?

Circadian lighting mimics natural daylight progression, supporting your body's rhythms. Cool, bright light promotes alertness; warm, dim light helps prepare for sleep.

Casambi Built-in Profile

  1. Create a new Scene
  2. Go to Scene Settings (gear icon)
  3. Select "Circadian" profile type
  4. Adjust the profile curve
  5. Save and activate

Custom Animations

  1. Create intermediate scenes (2,700K, 3,500K, etc.)
  2. Go to "Animations" tab
  3. Add a new animation
  4. Use sunrise/sunset or fixed times
Example Profile: 6AM → 50%, 2,700K | 9AM → 100%, 6,500K | 12PM → 100%, 6,500K | 6PM → 50%, 2,700K

Innerscene Pre-Configured Profiles

Fixtures with factory commissioning (P0001, P0002) include pre-configured circadian profiles. Customize via the fixture's WiFi interface or replace with Casambi profiles.

Troubleshooting

Fixture Not Appearing in App

  • Ensure Primary fixture is powered on
  • Check Bluetooth is enabled
  • Move closer (within 30ft / 10m)
  • Close and reopen the Casambi app

Fixture Not Responding

  • Check connected to correct network
  • Verify fixture is assigned to network
  • Power cycle (off 10 sec, then on)
  • Check for app updates

Secondary Fixtures Not Following Primary

  • Ensure same wireless group
  • Restart all fixtures
  • Check wireless range (~50ft)
